At first glance, I was pleased by this second hub, but I would not purchase it again. First, I was unhappy that the AC connection port in the back had been moved in relation to the USB port; connection for me is now very unwieldy, bringing me to the next points. The hub is too light, and moves about too much, and the connection cords that came with it, both the USB and power adapter, are quite short, limiting the placement of the hub. Finally, the LED lights do not respond as they should. No matter what I do, the green LED light remains on, indicating the two higher powered ports are activated. This latter is not a big issue, but it adds to my dissatisfaction with the product. I have emailed D-Link support about the lights, but, regardless of the response (assuming one is made), I would not buy this hub again.
Hi, I own a D-Link DUB H-7 7-Port USB 2.0 hub (which is seemingly now having issues of some sorts. I am running Windows 7 64-bit, and have also used the same hub when I was still on XP SP3. It has worked fine all along, which is always connected to the back ports on the machine. I started suspecting that it has a problem when one of the external drives connected to it, would not initialise in Windows 7.

So I disconnected all the USB drives from the hub, and also the main USB cable running from the back of my machine, and just left the AC adapter connected to it. The power light was not on. But when the USB cable gets plugged in, all the lights on the front of the hub light up brightly.
